PMA Business Leaders Forum (Formerly the PMA Fellowship Program)

The PMA Council of Fellows created one of the most visionary, forward-thinking and beneficial programs that PMA has ever offered. The PMA Business Leaders Forum (formerly called the Fellowship Program) is PMA’s signature education offering. The goal is to create learning experiences that make a real difference in participants’ lives and professional careers. The Program represents an innovative leadership development opportunity for PMA Full and Associate Members that enhances business and personal leadership skills through an ongoing series of educational programs, networking opportunities and peer interaction.
The PMA Business Leaders Forum combines one-on-one mentoring with a series of regularly scheduled seminars, training sessions and meetings. The program will be open to Full and Associate Members.
Several of the distinctive features of the Program are:

  • Unique learning experiences that foster innovation and excellence
  • Monthly programs led by extraordinarily talented and high-impact speakers
  • A once-in-a-career opportunity to build lasting relationships that enable participants to grow professionally and personally
  • Opportunities to self direct the training received by identifying topics and discussion issues that have the most meaning to individual participants

Content

The Business Leaders Forum comprises a monthly full-day meeting that begins with a half-day seminar led by top-notch speakers, addressing topics such as:

  • Decision making and problem solving
  • Conflict resolution
  • Personnel management
  • Goal setting and personal productivity
  • Financial analysis
  • Technological opportunities and trends
  • Other topics that are identified by the participants

Each seminar is followed by lunch and an afternoon session dedicated to individual topics that may be identified prior to or at the session. Seminar topics will be recorded and tapes will be given to everyone who attends as a means to reinforce the message and eliminate the need for participants to spend time taking notes.

Between the sessions, each participant will meet either by phone or in person with another participant to discuss program progress, professional challenges and other issues. Additionally, the Program will be managed by a professional facilitator who will run each monthly seminar and moderate discussion sessions that follow. The facilitator also will meet monthly or as needed with each participant to determine needs, interests and training that may be required to make the Program more effective.

Participating

PMA Full and Associate Members must apply to the Program and receive the signed approval from their supervisor saying that they will be given the time to participate meaningfully in Program activities. Additionally, each participant must sign a confidentiality agreement that, if violated, will result in automatic expulsion from the Program. Additionally, each participant must agree to contribute in some meaningful way to the Association as a condition of participation. For more information, call PMA at 301-657-9200.
