PMA Profile: David Newcome

David Newcome

PMA Director David Newcome serves as vice president and chief operating officer of DARO Realty. During his career, David has managed a diverse portfolio of properties for Southern Management Corporation, the Charles E. Smith Companies and B.F Saul Company. In the 1990s, while serving as a senior regional manager at Smith, he got involved in many PMA committees, which led him to the Board of Directors. In 2000, Dave was elected PMA president.

David also gave back to his industry by serving for five years as a member of the Arlington County Landlord Tenant Commission. He also remained active in PMA and the Apartment and Office Building Association where he focused his energies on rent control issues. For his numerous contributions to PMA and the property management profession David was elected to the PMA Council of Fellows and currently serves as the Council’s chair. David was re-elected to serve on the Board of Directors in 2009 where he has been instrumental in PMA’s leadership development, strategic planning and governance initiatives. In 2010 he received the PMA Vision Award. David also is a car guy. Fixing and restoring cars are his true passion. Dave owns two antique cars, both Mustangs, and serves on the Board of Directors of his local Mustang club.
