Job Qualifications:
  • 10+ years Maintenance experience in a Multi-Family, Hospitality, Commercial or Retail setting.
  • 7+ years as a Maintenance Supervisor in a Multi-Family, Hospitality, Commercial or Retail setting.
  • New Construction knowledge strongly preferred.
  • Must possess ability to develop rapport with residents and staff.
  • Strong analytical, organizational and problem solving abilities; must be able to handle multiple priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office products and Yardi software.
  • Must reside within 30 minutes of Washington, DC
Job Description:

We currently have an opportunity for a Maintenance Supervisor for our Vaughan Place Community with Capital Properties. The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for providing exceptional customer service and overseeing all aspects of community operations including staff performance, resident satisfaction and financial success for a portfolio of 4 luxury mid rises, one high rise and 28 townhouses totaling 574 units. You inspire your team to perform at their best while working in conjunction with the Community Manager to create a sense of community, ensuring superior customer experiences, and that all aspects of financial responsibility are strictly adhered to.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the Maintenance Technician to ensure they maintain day-to-day operations of the property, including responsibility for finance, all items pertaining to maintenance, customer service and staff management.
  • Oversee the RFP process to ensure all Capital and Operating projects are completed in a timely fashion with minimal cost impact. Oversee vendor relations and negotiate pricing.
  • Oversight of the budget, charting the overall financial performance of the properties and creating cost effective ways to reduce costs and bring projects in house.
  • Continual support of the onsite Maintenance Teams to ensure team performance remains exceptional.
  • Handle recordkeeping and reporting responsibilities.
  • Work directly with the Property Managers to ensure all federal, state and safety laws are met.
  • Work directly with the Property Managers, Supervisors and Asset Manager to create and implement new and ongoing hands on training for all maintenance team members.
  • Oversee multiple large scale unit and common area renovation projects.
