The Property Management Association’s Apartment Community Excellence Awards honor the region’s most outstanding apartment communities.
In 2022, more than 160 communities, managed by 28 companies, submitted PACE applications. 2022 PACE participants include properties constructed more than a half-century ago as well as those that recently opened their doors. From June through September, PACE judges crisscrossed the Washington metropolitan area, visiting participating communities and conversing with onsite teams. The participating communities were excited to showcase what they have to offer their residents and explain what sets them apart from their competition. The PACE Awards Committee, led by Chair Susie Sanin (Minkoff Company, Inc.) and Vice-Chair Karen Geier-Smith (Southern Management Companies, LLC), administers a program that provides industry and peer recognition and also serves as a valuable team-building and learning experience. Following the 2022 Awards Ceremony, every participating community will receive a copy of the judges’ evaluations. This candid and constructive review highlights the properties’ strengths and suggests opportunities for improvement.
