Leasing Lab: Real Scenarios, Real Solutions, Real Growth

The Leasing Lab at PMA’s 2025 Leasing & Maintenance Summit is more than a classroom—it’s a hands-on, minds-on challenge designed to reflect the real-world decisions leasing professionals face every day.

In this interactive, team-based session, you’ll step into the shoes of a leasing professional navigating high-pressure, high-stakes situations. You’ll collaborate with your peers to analyze realistic scenarios pulled straight from today’s multifamily environment—ranging from fraud prevention and fair housing compliance to fee transparency, renewals, reputation management, and more.

What to Expect:

  • Scenario-Based Group Work: Collaborate in small groups with fellow leasing professionals to work through real-world scenarios drawn from today’s industry. Each scenario presents a challenge that demands communication, critical thinking, and practical leasing knowledge.
  • Live Presentations to the Room: Throughout the session, select groups will be invited to present their solutions to the entire room. This gives attendees the opportunity to learn from different approaches, hear multiple perspectives, and reflect on alternative strategies.
  • Facilitated Group Discussions: After each round of presentations, you’ll engage in a guided conversation with your peers. Share your takeaways, discuss what worked (and what didn’t), and explore new ways to handle familiar challenges.
  • Mentorship from Industry Leaders: Senior marketing and property management professionals will serve as roaming judges and coaches, offering feedback, asking thought-provoking questions, and providing insights into how top performers navigate similar issues on the job.

Scenario Topics May Include:

  • Difficult prospect interactions and online reviews
  • Renewals, rent increases, and value communication
  • Policy enforcement and fair housing concerns
  • Sales strategies, burnout, and time management
  • Building your personal brand and career path in leasing

Why You’ll Love It:

  • It’s not a lecture—it’s an experience.
  • You’ll leave with new tools, fresh ideas, and real confidence.
  • You’ll connect with others who share your challenges—and your passion for leasing.

Whether you’re just getting started or ready to take your leasing career to the next level, the Leasing Experience is where real development happens.

Maintenance Lab: Hands-On, High Impact, Real-World Ready

The Maintenance Lab at PMA’s 2025 Leasing & Maintenance Summit is designed for hands-on professionals who don’t just want to learn—they want to do.

This year’s format is built around interactive troubleshooting labs, where teams of maintenance professionals will tackle real-world challenges in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. From HVAC and plumbing to electrical problem-solving, you’ll have the chance to apply your skills, work through live scenarios, and receive direct feedback from some of the most respected leaders in the industry.

What to Expect:

  • Five Technical Troubleshooting Stations: Work through realistic, timed challenges across the most common maintenance areas: HVAC, plumbing and electrical. Each problem is designed to take approximately five minutes to solve, just like it would on a busy service call.
  • Team Collaboration: You’ll work in small groups to assess each issue, document your solution and prepare to share your approach with a judge. This is about smart diagnostics, communication and teamwork—not just speed.
  • Live Feedback from Senior Maintenance Leaders: Senior maintenance professionals from top management companies will circulate throughout the room to hear your solutions, ask questions and provide constructive feedback in real time.
  • Real-World Application: These aren’t theoretical problems. They’re based on the kind of calls you respond to every day—and designed to reinforce technical accuracy, safety, efficiency and communication with both residents and team members.

Why You’ll Love It:

  • You’ll get to show what you know and learn from your peers.
  • You’ll interact directly with respected leaders in the field.
  • You’ll leave with practical takeaways you can use on your very next service ticket.

This is an opportunity to hone your skills, build your confidence, and connect with other maintenance professionals who take pride in doing the job right.
