Benefits of Participating

Improve Performance: The Leasing Professional Awards Program establishes benchmarks for leasing excellence and helps improve conversion ratios and overall presentation quality of your leasing team. PMA will provide an in-depth evaluation of each nominee that includes detailed scoring and benchmarking figures that identify specific strengths and opportunities for growth and improvement.

Teambuilding: Participating in PMA’s Leasing Professional Awards Program demonstrates that you care about and appreciate the efforts and achievements of your sales teams. This awards program will boost morale, improve teamwork and cooperation and encourage healthy competition.

Industry Recognition: The Leasing Professional Awards will be presented at the PMA 2022 Awards Ceremony - Celebrating Excellence in Our Industry on Wednesday, November 9, 2022 at The HOTEL at the University of Maryland.


Entering the Leasing Professional Awards

Deadline: Leasing Professional Award entries are due Friday, September 9, 2022.

Fees:  $160 per PMA member entry  |  $200 per nonmember entry

Keep the Nomination a Surprise: You may keep the nomination(s) a surprise for the nominee(s) by removing nominee(s) email address(es) from the box labeled 'Send Confirmation Email To' on the Check Out page.

Cancellation Policy: 2022 Leasing Professional Award entries may be withdrawn or transferred, but entry fees will not be waived nor are entry fees refundable. 


Evaluations

A mystery shopping company will evaluate each nominee August through October. Shops will not occur during the first seven days of the month or on Mondays.

Judging criteria include, but are not limited to: greeting, information-gathering strategies; professionalism; property/ apartment tour; benefit selling, overcoming objections; closing strategies and follow-up. Choose from two shop options:

  • Traditional Onsite Shop: Begins with mystery shopper telephoning apartment community to schedule a targeted in-person visit to the community. Provides objective and timely feedback on the telephone and onsite leasing presentation.
  • Virtual Leasing Experience Shop: Begins with mystery shopper placing a telephone call to the apartment community. Evaluates telephone and virtual tour skills, assessing the whole virtual leasing experience.
