Ask Me Anything Session
Join Us Virtually
PMA’s Sustainability Council is presenting an Ask Me Anything Session, to share best practices for complying with benchmarking and BEPS requirements.
Several of the questions to be addressed include:
- Which buildings are covered under each jurisdiction's benchmarking and BEPS ordinance, and what are the square footage thresholds that trigger compliance obligations?
- What is the difference between benchmarking compliance and BEPS compliance, and how do the two programs interact or build on each other?
- What are best practices for obtaining whole-building utility data from Pepco, Washington Gas, WSSC, Dominion and other regional utilities – and how do automatic data upload agreements work?
- What role should property managers, engineers and sustainability consultants play, and when does it make sense to bring in outside help?
- For portfolios that span multiple jurisdictions, what is the most efficient workflow to manage compliance across different reporting platforms and deadlines?
- What resources, technical assistance programs or free tools are offered by any of the jurisdictions that can help building owners/managers comply?
Participants Include:
- Katie Bergfeld, CEM, LEED AP BDC, PMP, Associate Director, Building Performance Division, Department of Energy & Environment
- Hope Duke, Senior Associate, Sustainability | National Real Estate Services, Berkshire Residential Investments
