MAINTENANCE EXPERIENCE

Maintenance professionals will get even more hands-on learning in 2026, with interactive stations focused on real-world troubleshooting, technical skills and practical problem solving.

Attendees will rotate through station-based learning experiences covering topics such as HVAC diagnostics, plumbing and electrical troubleshooting, appliance diagnostics, lock rekeying and access control, fire safety and compliance, trash chute and compactor maintenance, and other everyday maintenance challenges.

LEASING EXPERIENCE

Leasing professionals will participate in tiered training designed to meet them where they are in their careers.

Concurrent workshops will focus on foundational skills, applied strategies, leadership and innovation, giving attendees the opportunity to build confidence, sharpen their approach and explore solutions to the challenges they face every day.

GENERAL SESSION

In How to Win with People, Rommel Anacan will share practical strategies for understanding what drives people, communicating more effectively and building stronger relationships. Attendees will leave with tools to navigate challenging interactions, reduce tension and build trust with residents, coworkers and leaders alike.

Rommel Anacan (pronounced Roe-mell Ana-kin) is a nationally recognized speaker, trainer and consultant who has spent more than 20 years helping apartment professionals lead better, lease better, work better and achieve extraordinary results.

Drawing on a multifamily career that has taken him from leasing to corporate leadership, Rommel combines real-world industry experience with high-energy, practical strategies that audiences can put to work immediately. His engaging and relatable approach has made him a sought-after speaker for apartment associations and leading multifamily organizations across the country.

Rommel has presented at major industry events including Apartmentalize, Brainstorming and Multifamily Executive, and has worked with organizations including Yardi Systems, Camden, Lincoln Property Company, Apartments.com, Liberty Military Housing, Bainbridge, Atlantic Pacific Companies, IREM, BOMA and many others.

When he isn't speaking or consulting, Rommel enjoys spending time with his family in Southern California, serving as a pastor at his church, volunteering with the Civil Air Patrol, wearing cowboy boots and watching sports—and the occasional Hallmark movie.

The afternoon program will begin with a keynote general session with Rommel Anacan during lunch, followed by the Leasing Professional Awards, Maintenance Professional Awards and a networking reception celebrating the people whose skill and dedication keep communities thriving.

Now in their 14th year, PMA’s Leasing Professional Awards and Maintenance Professional Awards recognize the frontline talent behind exceptional resident experiences, strong community operations and outstanding property performance. This year’s luncheon will bring together nominees, supervisors, teams, sponsors and industry leaders for an energizing afternoon of recognition, storytelling and appreciation.

The 2026 Maintenance Professional Awards mark a record-breaking year, with 92 entries representing approximately 20 area property management companies. The Leasing Professional Awards also reflect strong industry participation, with 78 entries representing 17 property management companies.

Throughout the luncheon, PMA will spotlight the individuals who go above and beyond for their communities—from leasing professionals who connect prospects with their next homes to maintenance professionals who solve problems, support residents and keep properties running smoothly.
