PMA’s Leadership Development Program is a customized, cohort-based experience designed for both associate members and property management professionals at any stage of their leadership journey who want to strengthen their leadership capacity, expand their perspective and lead with greater confidence and impact.

Whether participants are new to leadership, preparing for expanded responsibilities or looking to refine their leadership style, this six-month program provides practical tools, peer connection and individualized support to help participants lead themselves, their teams and their organizations more effectively.

 

Through This Program, Participants Will:
  • Build greater self-awareness, emotional intelligence and communication skills.
  • Better understand their personal leadership style, strengths and development opportunities.
  • Strengthen their ability to engage, motivate and communicate with others.

Participants will move through the program as a cohort, creating shared experiences, building relationships and learning from one another throughout the six-month experience. The program includes:

Insights Discovery Assessment and Workshop

Participants will complete the Insights Discovery Assessment and participate in a virtual workshop designed to deepen self-awareness, strengthen communication and improve understanding of individual and team dynamics.

 

One-on-One Coaching

Each participant will receive four hours of individualized coaching. These confidential virtual coaching sessions provide space to process new learning, explore real-time challenges, identify practical next steps and build accountability for continued growth.

 

In-Person Learning Experiences

The program includes three in-person learning opportunities:

  • Intro to Leadership Kick-Off
  • Leadership workshop at PMEXPO 2027
  • Closing session and graduation celebration

 

Virtual Learning Sessions

Participants will also take part in three virtual learning sessions focused on leadership topics such as engagement and motivation, listening, feedback and feedforward, conflict management, strategic thinking, decision-making in ambiguity, collaborative negotiation, leadership presence and personal brand.

Accountability Partner

Each participant will be paired with an accountability partner to reinforce learning, share challenges, exchange ideas and support continued application of leadership concepts throughout the program.

About the Leadership Development Program Facilitator

Lisa Banks

Lisa Banks, Champion of Leadership Excellence, Optify, brings PMA's Leadership Development Program a wise perspective and agility cultivated through a multifaceted career in business and leadership. Prior to becoming a leadership coach, facilitator and trainer, Lisa practiced corporate law, built a business and sharpened her leadership skills while directing and growing businesses in the nonprofit space. She is a mindfulness practitioner and certified meditation teacher committed to promoting resilient leadership. At Optify, Lisa carefully selects the team's talented coaches and supports their professional growth. She directs Optify’s coaching services and helps to shape the organization’s partnership and marketing strategy.

Lisa earned her Juris Doctor from the Georgetown University Law Center and Bachelor’s degrees in Communications and International Relations from the University of Virginia. She is a certified leadership coach and facilitator through Georgetown University and a Professional Certified Coach with the International Coach Federation. She is a mentor coach for the Georgetown University Institute for Transformational Leadership and a presenter for the ICF.
